It is the time to wrap and review the work done in 2022. My Tableau Public profile which serves as my portfolio for visualisation work has been a little quiet for this year due to some personal advances such as getting married in April and moving to a completely new city, getting used to of living in a wonderful family and many more. Although I have been busy on improving on other aspects, I was still able to cherish some happy moments by bagging two Viz of the Days (VOTD), becoming Tableau Ambassador for second year in row, getting the opportunity to Co-host Mumbai Tableau User Group and speaker at two Tableau User groups.

Out of many ideas in my notes, I brought some of them to my portfolio and lets talk about the three of them which I like the most and enjoyed developing as well.

1. Cracking the Rubik’s Cube (VOTD)

After getting inspired by the #GamesNightViz community project by Will Sutton, I created this visualisation with one of the datasets provided on Rubik’s Cube championship. I opted for this one because there is not much awareness around the competition and I was eager to dig in more on this topic. I got some inspiration from Tableau Public for the layout of the viz along with some of the best practices around font and color. It always helps to do a little search work on Tableau Public as there are hundreds of ideas you can get from the work done by beloved members of the #datafam. If you also want to check it out, here is the link.

2. Film vs Reality : Portrayal of Gang Members #VOTD

It was one of the fun projects where I experimented with colors and hues. I made use of Figma to create the background and for the text as well. I am very fond of some of the fonts such as Graduate, Nunito, Iceland and Odibee Sans in Figma which I use regularly in my work. This project was also created as part of the Diversity in Data community project.

You can check the below visualisation here.

3. Journalist Killings

I always wanted to work on this topic and everyday we see shocking news around attack on media professionals which poses a major security concern. This visualisation was created with the intent to spread awareness around the topic.

Below are some of the snippets from the viz and you can check the whole visualisation here.

Apart from the above mentioned, there were other visualisations which I loved working on. I hope to keep up the enthusiasm for the next year and I am eager to work on new projects. If you want to check the whole portfolio, check my Tableau Public account.

See you on next blog. Till then, Take care!

Happy New Year in advance!
